Yeah, Twitter is definitely no good. One of these days I hope to drop it completely out of my life. I only find something that is useful to me about 5% of the time when I use it and the rest is just a drain on my mind. Not worth it.
I find some Twitter accounts and debates super informative but I limit my time on Twitter quite a bit. It gets boring fast, reading books based on prompts I find on social media is how I roll.
I was just on Twitter for 5 minutes and my adrenaline is through the roof.
The plan was to study the Bible this afternoon and I ended up watching violent police videos and meme sites instead, wasting the entire day. I feel mentally and spiritually gross now.
Finally got past pornography, but there's all these other things that don't seem "as bad" but I'm realizing all of my digital addictions aren't glorifying God and doing harm to myself.
Even with spreading the truth on all the communist (and related dark stuff related to race/religion/occult), it became an obsession that became an idol. Every day is Romans 7, trying to remember Romans 8.
Thank you for sharing, Jim. You touched on two things here that were also huge problems for me. In our space it’s unavoidable seeing violent videos and other demoralizing content. This always bothered me immensely, people spreading this content further by offering their commentary, while exposing everyone to the demoralizing content itself. I am guilty of it as well, the platform incentivizes this kind of pattern.
For men who struggle with porn, there’s plenty of temptation that makes it way on the timeline to draw you back in, even from Christian accounts. Great band btw.
I understand. I keep off Twitter. It's poison for the soul. I get the information I need from Substack, and to some degree, Telegram.
