This is the kind of content I came to substack for! Consider me subscribed and I'm excited to read though your archives. -Cheers!

P.S. I can attest to the idea that many mental health "episodes" reach the spirit realm in one sense or the other. Usually not for the best, trickster demons pretending to provide holy guidance.

Great write up! Experienced this many times at night when I was younger and ran from one as a young adult. I was stone cold sober and it was broad daylight, but I was leaving an area once known for human sacrifice. I had NO IDEA that the area had that reputation until I got home and frantically searched for answers as to what had happened. Felt like an absolute idiot.

Found God a few years later and haven’t seen them since. I do make sure to pray often and consciously reject evil, I think that’s a huge part of it. And I Google national parks before stupidly wandering through them on a whim...

Thank you for reading and sharing your story! That sounds terrifying but I have had similar encounters myself and I absolutely believe God allows us to experience those moments to draw us closer to Him. God be with you, Grace.

Both western branches - prot and RC - are lacking the fullness of the faith - the sacraments are dilute or twisted, or in many prot churches, completely absent. We are unitary beings - receiving the Eucharist, confession, holy water, antidoron, blessed meal after liturgy, etc etc (not to mention baptism and chrismation - and icons, relics, etc etc) are essential to warding off evil energeaia/demonic presences. The demons hate holy matter. Which is why, according to the teaching passed down to us - women should cover their heads. Beyond that I don't know - I do know that when I pray - even at home with my head uncovered - I sense an unnecessary exposure.....

Thanks. I hadn't heard of the hatman, oddly, as I've had an interest in the subject for quite some time.

I haven't seen these entities myself but have often felt something dark. Prayer and the confidence that you are protected is very important. Equally important that we trust our intuition when these feelings manifest.

Demons do exist. We have countless first hand accounts throughout history. The "alien" question has always seemed such. Words change but they don't. Demons, aliens, slender man, black eyed children, etc... we are hit with so much these days it can be hard to know what to believe.

Faith that god will protect one, if they only request it, is what we can always believe.

Interesting comment—why do women need to cover their heads? Also what differences in the churches do you attribute the different experiences to?
