I play Tears of the Kingdom and the first thing that striked me that Link's right arm is replaced by a black arm given by a goat-looking demigod who is the first king of Hyrule, who married a Hylian woman (daughter of man). He is called Raunu and he guides you through the tutorial (initiation) of which jumping from high platforms into water is a big theme. You jump exactly three times from a high place into a pool of water, mocking the Catholic/Orthodox baptism of triple pouring or dunking into water, as in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. This arm Link receives looks even eerie-demonic and its main-function, Ultra Hand (wink wink), glows in red once activated.

This game strongly hints at an antedeluvian, or pre-apocalyptic civilization with technology way more advanced than whatever Hylians use. The game is divided in three layers, heaven archipelago, Hyrule (earth/purgatory) and the Depths (hell). Interestingly enough, Link looks the most feminine out of all installments, and the player must wear a woman's garment in Breath of the Wild in order to progress further in the game. Eiji Aonuma, the head creator of TLoZ, repeatedly admitted that Link is supposed to look androgynous, so "that every player can identify with him", but he is still male.

Last month I felt a strong pull to buy a Switch and buy the flagship titles Super Mario Odyssey and Tears of the Kingdom - I don't bother to play Breath of the Wild because the next installment upgrades on most aspects - and, as I had it in the past, while Nintendo games seem child-friendly, I always felt creeped out by these games, never bothering with a second playthrough or spending too much time in a quiet place. Now I bought it, and the same feeling comes over me in TotK, even way worse. Today I got Odyssey and I see it has the same structure as Super Mario 64 and TLoZ titles, so Masonic/Kabbalistic initiation is a given.

Wow, thanks for sharing. I was wondering about Tears of the Kingdom, that sounds pretty consistent with the masonic themes throughout the franchise. Its very eerie to think that there are writers at Nintendo who are so in tune with these esoteric themes.

After the defeat in WWII Masonry was legalized in Japan, before it was banned and persecuted. Masonry flourished in Japan, this is why you see most (if not all) forms of media containing "Christian", Kabbalistic and demonic symbolism. Many shows promote the idea of receiving demonic powers, befriending demons, using demons for your own "good" or making contracts with them. Good examples are the games Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, and the anime Chainsaw Man.

Thanks for the work you do. We need more writers/voices like you and I hope Substack doesn't nuke your site.

PS: The most Catholic cities were bombed to kingdom come in Japan: Horoshima and Nagasaki, and both cities are at almost 33° latitude.

PPS: Masonry in Japan was built on the blood on Japanese Catholics.
